Network Log

The version history of the PeerCab network — for the fun of it, and for the discipline.

v0.6.1
current
Deploy discipline: production (peercab.com) ships exactly once per 24 hours. Everything builds and verifies in the sandbox first — no exceptions, even for the ghost.
v0.6.1 — The Paper Trail
Staged
Every ops table sorts by any header, prints clean, and can be scoped to a single owner.
  1. Sortable headers on all six data pages — click to sort, click again to flip; the active column is underlined and arrowed
  2. Chronological stays the default on Trips and Ledger; Riders defaults to trust ascending (problem riders on top)
  3. Sort keys resolve through a whitelist — a crafted ?sort= parameter cannot inject SQL
  4. Print Report on every table page: light paper layout, full result set, title block with the applied sort, print dialog auto-opens
  5. Per-owner views (?owner_id=N) on Trips, Fleet, Charge Stations, and Ledger — what the owner sees vs. the full network monitor
  6. Fleet badge on Owner Scorecards jumps straight to that owner's fleet view
v0.6.0 — The Holding Pen
Staged
The network predicts where riders will be — and stages cabs there first. Just like real cabs do.
  1. Airport holding pen: flight-arrival curve predicts demand — 12 flights on the ground means 5 cabs staged at the pen
  2. Event hot spots on the live map: dashed overlay circles for the Big Game let-out, fair nights, the art show — demand builds as the crowd spills
  3. Pen discipline, both directions: staged cabs answer ONLY zone pickups — and airport fares belong to pen cabs ONLY
  4. The one exception: a known rider may request a known cab by name — the request bypasses pen rules both ways
  5. GOLD STATUS perk: riders at 85+ trust can call their usual cab for an instant ride — the pen bends for them
  6. Network Standards page: one standard set of parameters for ALL cabs (maintenance interval, charge threshold, fares, staging ratio, owner share) — plus owner-regulated overrides
  7. The Late number, figured out: maintenance due dates now derive from the interval (standard 90d, owner-adjustable), and OVERDUE shows days late with its basis
  8. Service Complete button: ending maintenance sets the next due date from the owner's effective interval
  9. Daylight hardening: the light theme is the outdoor default — tier badges get firm edges, yellow buttons darken for direct sun, hamburger toggler no longer white-on-white
  10. PRIORITY BOARDING: riders can tie their airline elite status (AAdvantage, MileagePlus, SkyMiles...) to their cab status — verified Gold+ flies gold here: usual-cab instant rides, pen rules included
  11. CAB SETUP page: per-cab parameters — nickname, staging participation, maintenance interval override. The chain is honest: cab beats owner, owner beats network standard
  12. WAIT FARE: riders get a grace window at pickup (5 min standard), then every minute the cab holds is billed to the late rider — a cab is a resource, not a bench
  13. MID-TRIP REROUTES: change your destination while en route — the meter keeps running like a real cab. Same trip, same base, fare billed on actual miles. Minors who reroute trigger an instant guardian SMS
  14. MID-TRIP HOLDS: need to pull over and think? First 3 minutes are free — take a breath. After that the wait fare applies; a parked cab is still a cab someone else could be riding
  15. TIME ON THE METER: the meter now runs on time as well as miles — 0.35 CR/min in transit (about 21 CR/hour). Traffic costs time and time is real; slow rides pay the owner, exactly like a real cab
  16. OWNER-VARIABLE FREE TIME: how long a rider can think for free is each owner's call — Dave Slacker gives 1 minute, Bob Miller gives 10. Riders will notice whose cab they're in
  17. COMPS, DONE HONESTLY: an owner comps a percentage of any ride — 25/50/75/100% — the rider pays the remainder, and the network still collects its full cut of the whole fare, charged to the owner's ledger. Generosity never comes out of the platform's pocket
  18. RIDER CLOUT — SHADOW PARAMETER: earned quietly through behavior (on-time arrivals, clean rides, no-shows cost you) and spent just as quietly — priority dispatch when cabs run short. Riders never see a tier, a badge, or a ranking. The queue just moves faster for the reliable. Nobody gets publicly ranked on my network
  19. Owner override: a staged cab can be released by its owner with one button (opt-out respected by the predictor)
v0.5.2 — Chameleon Mode
Staged
Light theme to go with the dark one — plus labels you can actually read.
  1. Sun/moon toggle in the navbar: light or dark scheme, remembered per browser — light by default (built for daylight)
  2. Counter labels recolored bright status-matched hues (were near-invisible muted grey)
  3. Stat label colors auto-adjust for the light scheme so contrast holds in both themes
  4. Rider App and Rate screens follow the theme too
v0.5.1 — Now You See Me
Staged
Live fleet tracking on the dashboard map.
  1. Positions JSON endpoint + 3-second client polling — markers glide as cabs move
  2. Status colors update live; LIVE sync badge keeps honest time
  3. Polling chosen over WebSockets: shared hosting won't hold a socket process, and at prototype scale polling is indistinguishable from real
v0.5.0 — The Evidence Economy
Staged
Accountability flows both directions — with receipts.
  1. Rider photo ratings: 1-2 stars triggers a 15 CR detailing fee for the owner, photo evidence retained for disputes
  2. Interior cameras ship in every cab by default — camera AI audits every trip, mess bills the rider 25 CR automatically
  3. Crypto top-up: BTC/USDC as the on-ramp rail, credits stay stable
  4. Guardian hold: minors can never be silently suspended — guardian review with critical SMS, never a kid on a curb
v0.4.0 — The Phone App
Staged
The rider's pocket screen.
  1. Rider App: per-stage alert toggles — dispatched, picked up, en route, arriving, arrived, rescue
  2. Guardian Link: kid riders' stage alerts mirror to guardians by SMS
  3. Safety overrides preferences: rescue alerts always on for minors
v0.3.0 — No Cab Left Behind
Staged
The network takes care of its own.
  1. Roadside rescue: cab fault mid-trip auto re-dispatches a healthy cab, rider gets goodwill credit, recovery absorbed by network insurance
  2. Predictive dispatch: breakdown-risk cabs get skipped before trouble starts
  3. Trip tracks: flight-following breadcrumbs for the last 25 trips
v0.2.0 — The Supply-Side Story
Live
Prospectus economics: the map fills free, the network eats on every kWh, hardware only ships when it pays for itself.
v0.1.0 — Hello, Ghost
Live
The core network: 8 cabs, 4 owners, 6 stations, a floating credit ledger, and 14 riders — two of whom misbehave on purpose. Otto runs dispatch.
